opening ceremony with a soundtrack that is at least part brand new, composed exclusively for the opening. This programme will not be a new situation for the creators however, since artistic director Danny Boyle and Underworld already collaborated on ‘Sunshine’, Boyle’s 2007 effort to which Hyde & Co. wrote, performed and recorded the score.
The opening ceremony’s musical score will be titled Isle of Wonder: Music for the Opening Ceremony of the London 2012 Olympic Games and is coming to your hard drive right after the completion of the event (midnight, July 28th that is). Physical release is due August 6th on Decca/Universal.

Muse

You might already know that the Games’ official song is titled ‘Survival’ and is already released. It will be played when athletes enter the stadiums and before medal ceremonies. Also, broadcasters will obliged to use it during reports. So expect a lot of it. Here it is again:

The Chemical Brothers

The Chems are one of four additional acts to have written and recorded a song specifically for the Games. Tom Rowlands and Ed Simons’s track bears the title ‘Theme From Velodrome’ and will accompany the races there.
