For all of you who have been wondering why the reviews and news have been coming along so slowly

these days and for everyone who stumbles upon this entry or the blog itself: this is a present for your attention and interest concerning this blog’s content.
As it is written on the About page, I’m an aspiring (lo-fi, bedroom, indie, call it what you like) musician and I have been making music since I was 11 years old. At 15, the jew’s harp and electronic music had my primary attention and thus my first album (recorded in my room) was published and is still downloadable in its entirety for free on doromb.com . At the age of 17 I took up the bass and made some songs using samples, drumloops, some MIDI magic and of course, my beloved Squier Precision Bass. This was ‘Poorly Contructed Compliments Vol. 1’. You can listen to it on soundcloud.

And for about a year, I’ve been playing the guitar and thus I felt that I needed to move on. I needed another name to mark a new beginning. Laughing Vixen just came to me during a lecture at university and since then I have not been able to come up with anything better (I’m sure you already have but…alas). I recorded a cover of the Death in Vegas song ‘Girls’ because I love the band, ‘Lost in Translation is my all-time favourite movie and new bands start out with cover versions.

I didn’t really want to leave the RKiT project behind without saying goodbye however. Of course I’ll always remain a doromb/jew’s harp/khomus enthusiast and I’m crazy excited to play at Global Vibes in Kecskemét this winter but this electronic base+jew’s harp formula is definitely over for me.

I just wanted to connect past and future with this virtual split 7. *

And of course to surprise you, dear readers with a little present. (no pun intended)

Happy holidays and all the best,

Tamas Arki
